Odd,

Looks somewhat like a bear. If a pipe...does it have a bowl and stem hole....I cant seem to make one out from the photo....I doubt its bone....at least from that time period....I doubt it would have held up that well....more likely its rock or some type of hard claylike stone. Get a couple of photos head on and top down to show the bowl and face better.
Its an unusual piece for sure.

There is no bowl or hole. Just a carved face of a bear. thought maybe it broke off of a pipe or bowl or cup.

I don't know what it is, I don't think that it's from a pipe either but.... WOW, it's a cool artifact, one of the most interesting pieces I've seen in a while. Wish I could tell what it's made of.

It weights 1/2 ounce and it feels like rock. It also has little shiny speckles under the chin and in the hollow place. I was initially thinking it was bone but it is to heavy plus when you tap it against metal it makes a tinging sound like rock. It also has a reddish color embedded in alot of the groves that you can only see with a magnifying glass. Thank you.

That's too cool! How big is it? From the weight I'm guessing not very large but trying to put it in perspective.
They're taking out the crops.....so if you ever need a hunting partner just let me know.
Happy Hunting. Dan
