I don't expect this one to have a definitive solve because it is a part that could be to anything but I was curious. Found between and old diary and house site where in the process off plowing the field they removed a old grape patch that has been here since I can remember decided to metal detect where it once was and this thing came up. 20210814_202931.webp20210814_202954.webp20210814_203002.webp20210814_203008.webp

Going by the size and the fine teeth, I think it's the crank gear for an old telephone magneto.

Some awesome guesses. I'm still not sure myself but looks like possibly maybe something I'll keep in my collection now just for the neat factor.

Guess I should return to that spot and see if I can find anymore parts of it since they moved the dirt all over where it came out of

Not a guess! I have some set up on boards with light bulbs for kids to play with.

Awesome than I shall trust your knowledge. I'm glad to have a piece of one then. It is a good piece for my collection. I keep a lot of my interesting finds and put them to use. I volunteer my time at an assisted living home my mother works at and make a presentation of the finds I have for them to look at. I document all the neater stuff with dates and little facts on said objects. So this object is useful for that.
