XP Deus II v0.6 with 11" Coil

All Treasure Hunting
The good thing about having a retired Cru'Dad is that he can do the scouting whilst I'm at work. Go Team:metaldetector:
Yesterday he reported one of the Roman Sites had been disced up & the strategy on choosing this site over many others was sound; It had one of the highest Roman Silver to Bronze ratios. So we were aiming for 1 Roman Silver, but you know detecting, never what you expect, so ended up with a Commonwealth Halfgroat instead. Happy because it's one of my better examples.
4.5hrs to Cru'Dad (Today & yesterday)
2 hrs to me (Yesterday)

14 Roman Coins
2 Lead Roman Steelyard Weights
Scrap Silver
Hammered Cromwellian period Halfgroat
18/19th C Medicine Weight
Small Medieval Buckle
Bits...

Congrats to you both on some great finds

Work...when the heck would you find time for that ?

Nice piece of silver one I don't think I've seen before.
You got a real nice condition roman there too (top left), that's got to be one in a few dozen.

I go to work to rest up before detecting again. Yesterday was 2 hours before dark.

Yes, the top left is what we call an Album Coin. So nice to add one to the collection, although it may go to the farmers collection, not sure yet until the trade off.

Nice hammered! Big lead indicates you don't hunted that site often before?

You would assume so, but it this case we are crap & missed them on our bad swings...

We systematically covered this site a few times (I think about 5 years ago we started, Dad has the records). Therefore many years of hunting left yet. This year due to time constraints we just did a smash & grab in the centre hotspot. No time to do the whole site like we usually do. This year, we having to redesign our manual as we go alone, too many sites & the window to many of them will close in less than 7 days!

Same here. One week i wait for drilling and the next plants is shooting up. Luckily most is green manure so the windows open till it's to high to detect. Most farmers don't like it tho. I could drive around every day to look where to detect...i just don't have the time for that. You're lucky to work in a team.

Cool, as always! I love roman coins. Have in my collections.

Nice array cru. The hammered is sweet.

I find some of the coins that you find just fascinating.
Thank you for the post and
Congratulations on your finds.

Great finds Cru, cool little silver coin. I dug the same commonwealth silver coin when I was over your way. Another hunting guy called me over to ask me something, and on my way over to him I found it only four steps away from him [emoji23]
