Not to long ago Rock sent me some stone and slag glass that he had found. I have never knapped slag glass, so this is my first try at it. What I found was it is a real weak glass, but it is workable. Thanks Rock Pottery from Kat and Ron 001.webpPottery from Kat and Ron 002.webpIt just does not show flaking very well.

Turned out nice. We just had a long rain yesterday and today. When the water goes back down I will see it the black is still there and send it. Maybe it is more durable than the white. The white or clear is a rare type color for us here. The black is heavier so it might do better. Good Job

Man that is awesome !!! I got some very pretty slag I'm gonna send you;)

I have noticed some of the slag has less bubbles if it is heavier.

Rock...what is slag glass? I have seen that name and wondered?
That point is pretty sweet.

It is a bi product from making metal during the Civil War. They cooked the rocks and some how divided the rock and metal. The slag is what was left over. It comes in many different colors. Sometimes it can actually fool you into thinking it is a worked piece.

you have a real talent for knapping monsterrack. Your work is beautiful! You made that piece of slag glass look great.
