Well I'm still searching my local thrift store and found this interesting little antique. The lid is marked sterling and the No.4. No makers name or mark. It's really beautiful cut crystal and wonderfully engraved on the sterling top. The top weights a total of 46 grams. With tax it cost me $8.68, so with that I got a deal on 1.36otz. of pure silver melt. I'm trying to determine how old it is, and I'm estimating maybe to have been made between 1875 to 1885?, but I can't be sure. Doesn't look like muffineers really go for a whole lot, but I'm happy with the deal I got on this one. Now I have two muffineers, as I think I have an all sterling one in my collection, unless I sold it. This is the post I put up when I found it. It is also called a Sugar Shaker

Great score, my local thrift store has the delightful tendency to be completely ignorant of the existence of silver and the local neghborhood is quite old and wealthy - the perfect combination. :D
