A TIMELY AND APPROPRITELY PATRIOTIC FIND.

Picked this one up at my favorite Publix coin converter. It's produced some great finds, including gold. No wonder it's my favorite. But this one is so amazing to find now. A WWII D-Day commemorative token. This one is from the National WWII War Museum in New Orleans in recognition of the 80th anniversary. Amazingly good condition. I see a little nick in the rim at 4 o'clock. Both sides are without scratches or bag marks as far as I can see. Don't think it has much more than sentimental value. I'll keep it because my dad was over there in N Africa chasing Rommel and then Italy where he was wounded. I believe they were sold in sets. It's another coin that makes me think someone might be raiding a collection. It is for sure not one I've seen before.

Looks like some problems with die, the strike, or maybe even the blank.
