Found this on the banks of the canal at the local park this morning.
No silver, gold, just this and .22 cents in clad.

well nice find. Sometimes tokens are worth more than you think! Silver is not easy to find and gold much harder.

That token is listed in Cunningham's Michigan Trade Tokens book - the only variety known from Augusta. In 1987 he put a $5 value on it.

I have not been able to find out anything about this token of where it came from.
