does anyone know if i can convert a tracker 4 to use AA's instead of 9V batteries??? since it uses 2 batteries , is it on 18 volts or does it use them as one to increase battery life???

anyhow, my son keeps forgetting to switch it off after he goes on his " treasure hunts" and i have replaced many batteries this way .... since the capacity of A's is a load more than the 9v i am wanting to do a conversion possibly with rechargeable NiMh cells...

The machine runs on 9volts. You may find that you can remove one of the cells and the detector might still work?

Save your self the trouble and money......just tell jr. he has to buy his own batteries and he can pay for them with all the money he finds detecting ;D
