H.H. and best of luck to all...joe
Added another pic for consideration...taken at a local park at the bootom of an old flagpole flying a tattered stars and stripes.

Hey Bongo...Right next to the pavillion/bandstand at Kearsley park.
Looked the park over but didnt hunt there....joe

I can't see enough detail to say for sure, but your rimfire shell case might be a 44 Henry! A rather rare find, compared to other Civil war era relics. A Henry would likely have a slight dome shape on the base caused by a recess in the bolt face of the Henry rifle. And Henry rifles had two firing pins to ensure ignition. Some other guns fired the 44 Henry cartridge too,so there might not be a dome or double firing pin hits. And there were other large rimfire cartridges, such as the Spencer. Here is a photo of some Henry cases I found last summer in Idaho at a mining ghost town. Does your shell look like these?

Hey JD...The casing is domed on the bottom and does have two firing pin strikes. It has a "U" rather than an H on the bottom....Joe

Jopher, several ammo manufacturers made 44 Henry cartridges. Maybe yours was made by the Union Metallic Cartridge Co. They started in 1868,I think,so the shot was fired after the civil war,if it is UMC.

Nice digs Joe, congrats on the keepers.
IH's on top, I'll take that every day!
Someone's works, dang, hate to see that stuff.
Best of luck buddy!

Smiles!
