abraham lincoln's head

here is a find i can't figure out. i was detecting in the woods where we have been having pretty good luck lately, i was detecting up close to these two huge tree's i got a silver reading on my machine and dug down a few inches, and got what looked to be one of those old weld dropings. i brushed off the dirt and when i did my heart did a flip flop it was abraham lincoln! looking back at me. boy i was so excited my hands were trembling lol. what a find! does anyone know what this might be. and could this be of any historic importance. thanks ben.

Looks like the model for the penny that ole Victor used in 1909.

the V.D.B initals the guys name was victor who made the design

Are we looking at 3 pics of the front? I guess the back is flat? Any markings?

The penny was designed after this Victor David Brennan copper plate.

Is your item copper, brass, silver or pot metal? Can you tell?

I can't help with the ID, but unearthing a portrait of Lincoln makes for a good detecting day in my book. Congratulations on an interesting find!
