...that's your find for the day? :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Never tried it myself. You'll appreciate this: on the way back from Iraq in 07 my buddy picked up a gift box of Absinthe with two drinking glasses in it when we stopped in Germany. He put it in the overhead and as soon as we landed in the states, he opened the overhead, it toppled out and crashed to the floor.DOH!! Poor guy.

the real stuff in the old days had wormwood it in would basically eat your brain up --heavy duty tripping stuff == the real ouzo was another wicked drink --had opaites dissolved in it

I dunno, it tends to make my heart grow fonder.
Hey, it's all I could think of, spur of the moment and such.

Me and my buddies actually managed to purchase a legit decent size bottle from Germany on our way back from Afghanistan a couple years back. The liquid was straight green, and smelled terrible. It seemed to take a good effect when we drank it a couple days after being back in the states. Didn't feel nothing really out of the obvious should I say. So yeah all in all not really my thing. The taste just kills it completely....

The modern stuff has wormwood in it and its not bad for you at all.
The stories about the old stuff killing people was a result of added coloring that was used to make it more green. These colorants were toxic.
Been drinking this for many years but lately prefer pastis. A much nicer drink that historically replaced absinthe in popularity in France.

Many children have died from this too.
Its still recommended sometimes but more and more its not because the general public has such little common sense.
I saw a show not that long ago about a baby dying from it.

Same thing the pharmaceutical companies are doing to patients. Feed your patients pills. How many people do you know that went to the hospital and came out worse off than when they went in.

1st time i had opiated liqueur was in japan in 69

try rice rum ?-- distilled sake wine -- powerful stuff -- most of the japanese wiskeys were not quite up to par -- johnny walker blue scotch was however.
