Got out with OldDude today to a town we hit last year that was pretty good to us, I was determined to get us a good permission and just like that, first guy I ask BAM!, says have at er'
as you know last weeks permission trip was rough on us so that's what we needed, this house was mid 1800s but right away it was obvious it was cherry picked, only low tones and wheat tones seemed to be in this yard, managed to get 4 wheats throughout the clad, this beautiful pin im convinced is silver (rang in 11-43) and has "that tone" 20150424_100301.webp20150424_192217.webp and a 1905 Indian!:headbang:, also got this weird button or button cover, gonna need help with ID on this one too. 20150424_192129.webpWe were getting ready to bail and got a screamer 11-44 again but only at 2 inches, I thought another clad quarter, well low and behold I got this gorgeous sterling ring!! This baby is heavy for its size, any help with age would be great. 20150424_113832.webp That was the exit find for that yard.ring 4 sides.webp Heres the take from the first yard.20150424_120002.webp We went for lunch and back to knocking, only got 2 no's today cause those owners said they detect. We found another nice house and I ask the guy says sure but park in the neighbors driveway and you can hit that too!, I thought How lucky is that???? well this yard was likely cherry picked also, alot of low tones and penny signals, and the neighbors house wasn't any better, but I got another 2 wheats and a 1880 Indian!!:headbang:, 20150424_184608.webp20150424_192120.webp20150424_192154.webpIt was getting late by that point so we left to try my cornfield but only hunted an hour there and dug some junk. Thanks for looking and HH!!

Wow! What a hunt. That is a bomber ring. Really nice stuff. Th button I believe is a Sons of Union Veterans. That would be my favorite.

Awsome finds! And that ring is a beauty!

We all would take those digs everyday!!!! Congrats on all your finds.

Man, I still can't believe we didn't get a silver coin out of those 3 places, but you did OK. How'd the wife like the ring? Katrina likes it. She said you can give it to her lol.

There are times I just want to thank anyone who cherry picks. :)

Then, there are times when I wonder just what will they do when all the land has been picked? ;)

Looks like the CJON - OLD DUDE team has scored again!
So, did he find all the war nicks? ;)

Glad that permission came easily! I know what it's like to be shot down, grr. That is a beautiful ring, and great finds overall.

WTG Cjon !! Good hunt :occasion14:

The ring is awesome !- I believe it's contemporary , though the marcasites along with the open "lacework" design are both a nod to the
later Victorian/ Edwardian periods . Now - I am one who gets excited when I get "penny " signals , I've found many a small silver ring
and other silver items, and even the occasional very worn Barber dime at that signal designation (whites MXT) not to mention numerous
wheat cents .

You did well Cjon- both in getting the permission and in some great finds. :)

Wowzers, what a hunt, Cjon455! Killer sterling pieces and the button (cover?) is outstanding. Congrats. Sub 8-)

Thanks for all the comments guys!

Fantastic ring and relics! :treasurechest::notworthy:

Beautiful ring !

Gundorph Albertus? Austria On the ring. Are you sure it is not platinum because you say it is abnormally heavy for it size? It is cool with the marquisettes Most of these rings are reproductions and are silver but the real deals were white gold or Platinum. I would make sure! It looks old and everything else you found is as well

Great button cover! Also
Cheers

Thanks! I haven't looked up the ring yet, but there is a 925 on the bottom, and I didn't realize how old that button cover was until someone else ID'd it!

Thanks again!!

Sweet Ring.....congrats on all your finds!
