Ace 250 and salt water

I gave my 250 it's first big workout yesterday at Yorktown. It worked like a charm on dry sand but in the water, I got nonstop hits on what turned out to be nothing.

I tried the sensitivity and discriminator but other than cutting it back until it really didn't find anything, nothing worked.

I'm guessing it's a combination of saltwater and minerals because it doesn't do that in freshwater.

Anyone else have the problem and possible fixes?
