Ace 250 for a beginner?

How does it fare with relic hunting? I figure I will using it most on old homesites a CW site that I have in mind.

it will do OK. if you want more depth than say 6 inches go with the Tesoro silver umax. its a little deeper than the Ace but either will serve you well. beach hunting is a different story but thats a whole other can of worms.

My Ace has found military buttons, civilian buttons, blackpowder bullets, modern bullets, pocket knives, pocket watches, modern watches, silver plated spoons, silver plated and solid silver buckles, square nails, old jewelry, old household items, all sorts of old iron objects, innumerable brass machine parts, and so on.
So yes, it will absolutely find good relics.
I'm sure it doesn't have the depth of the top relic machines, but it does pretty well.
