Detector(s) used
Traded up from a Garrett ACE 350 to an ATPro with a Garrett pro pointer
Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Bought an Ace 350 and have been getting out at least 2-3 days a week for the last couple weeks. It is only a couple weeks old. The detector business I bought it from will up grade to any other detector of same price or more within 30 days of purchase. It is an extra 200 + for the ATPro. Just curious what you all think....Is the upgrade prudent for a newbie or should I stay with the 350 for a while and then think about upgrading. I live in the northwest so don't have the relic opportunities a lot of you folks have back east and in the south. Mostly coin shooting but there is gold and old homesteads that are available here locally. Not looking to tart any arguments just looking for some advice, preferably from folks who have owned or do own both.

The ATP will do everything the 350 will but the 350 wont do what the ATP can!

Trade up!

If you are hooked on the hobby, spend the extra 200.00 now,and don't look back!

Spend it for sure! That's a nice deal they have there.

100% trade up.

Shouldnt even b a question lol

Upgrade while you can and don't even look back

The consensus says do the upgrade. I believe that is where I m going tomorrow. Thanks folks

You won't regret it, I promise! Best 200 dollar upgrade you can get, well, that and a pro pointer. ;)

Lol. Already got the pro pointer

Then you're set!

I had the 350 for three months and bought the pro last month holy **** what a diff.

I recently went from the ACE 350 to the AT Pro as well. There is no comparison between the two - they are two different animals. The ACE 350 is no slouch, but the AT Pro does a much better job of target discrimination. You also get better ground balancing, higher frequency range, the ability to change frequencies, and iron audio. Being waterproof is a bonus, too.

My only gripe is that the AT Pro should have a back light on the display.

a chip head flashlight is the best back light for the machine. during summer i only do night hunting and believe me a $3 piece makes the job perfect.
