Advice needed

Has anybody had any luck in vegas since the ground is so hard? Any sugustions on where to hunt? I am so excited to find something besides tin foil. Do you think most finds are on top cuz it is so hard to sink low cuz the ground is so hard. Last question would it me to get a new coil to top hunt since my DT is made for deep hunting?
