Advice on where to beach hunt in Cape Cod or Maine

Wifey and I are trying to make up our minds on where to take a short vacation this summer. Any advice on what Cape Cod or MaineTowns beaches are MD friendly? I know the National Seashore is off limits.....

In my experience the Cape isn't friendly to anyone as far as beaches. Lots of private land and few public beaches all with parking meters.
Their driving will scare the he$$ out of ya.

Has been years since I was in Maine but the was a place called DRAKES ISLAND BEACH Not sure of the town but if you google The maine dinner on hwy1 its tight in the same town
