Advice on working the Stanislaus river at Caswell State park?

Been there a couple time to hang out with some friends in the past. Was thinking of trying my luck with gold there at the day use area. I never saw anybody there with a pan before. Is it allowed there? Anybody on here ever tried prospecting there? Advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have camped there a few times, a long time ago. I do remember seeing a few people with pans.
Caswell is near enough to the East Bay and would be a good place to go to once in a while.

Hope someone is able to chime in here.

I'd love to hunt Caswell Park. I was up nosing around that area with the wife about a month ago. It has some interesting history and relics or coins found could be remarkable for Valley Finds. Keep me posted. Maybe we can do a hunt together.
