those rocks ur getting hits on are hot rocks and being that ur using a water machine i dont think it has the ability to disc those out its kinda the nature of the beast hot rocks are on land as well

That seems to be what I'm reading......I'll try another beach with less rocks. Thanks for the reply......j

U can allways try turning down ur sensitivity u will lose depth but might help

Detectors that ignore those hot rocks are Minelabs. They can't report the iron content.

Sandman is correct, your rocks have iron in them (hot rocks), Minelabs have no problem with them and will still tell you when their is a gold ring laying between 2 hot rocks....

So what Minelab do you guys recommend? Would like to use it on the sandy beach/saltwater/freshwater.........

I took my whiles for a swim and got 3 bucks! Canadian coins are a pain in the ass but an extendable magnet picks em right up when you cant find em under water. What a great hobby! I love it! I was in the water for 3 hours......no wetsuit......Canada has some chilly water!

Looking at the site the Safari looks pretty good

My whites v3i has no issues telling me theres a hot rock there or not
