I went looking through the for sale, and I am not sure what I need to look at. So...

We are going to the beach, and while I love my AT Pro, I have found it is not good at the beach. I want a used detector that will work for me at the beach. It does not have to be top of the line, or very new. I just want it to work. Can one of you guys let me know if there is something like that in the for sale, because I just don't know. Thanks.

I can say that the Minelab Excalibur is made to neutralize the effects that salt water has on VLF machines.

I believe vferrari has a Whites MX Sport for sale in the classifieds (scroll down a bit) That's a pretty good beach machine, I hear.

MX Sport is NOT a good beach machine. It is same-same as the AT Pro. Saltwater machines come in two flavors: Multi-Frequency, and Pulse Induction. If you want a saltwater machine, you'll need $650.00 minimum for a new machine. Look for used multi-freq or PI machines.
