AFTER 40 YEARS, MY FAVORITE SITE GAVE UP IT'S 1000TH SILVER!

I've been hunting this site for 40 years...since I was 16...and it finally gave up silver #1000! :occasion14:
I remember coming here back in 1979 as a sophomore in high school, and finding my first silver with my Bounty Hunter 840 VLF/TR. I've pounded it over the last 40 years with my Whites Eagle, Eagle Spectrum, Fisher CZ-5, CZ-6, CZ-6a, CZ-7a, CZ-70pro, Minelab Explorer 2, Explorer SE pro, and E-Trac. I used to leave here quite often after a days hunt, with 10+ silver...but the last couple of years, I'm lucky to leave here with just one every two hunts or so. The signals are TOUGH...as they should be after 40 years of pounding. I hunted for 6 hours to find silver #1000 from here, and yes I dug a few rusty nails in the process.:laughing7:
The good thing is, when a coin does pop out, it's usually an oldie like this 1890 Seated dime. :icon_thumright:
I couldn't think of a better way to hit silver #1000 from the same site, than this old beautiful seated coin.:angel7:

My buddy Dave also did well, pulling a nice 2-center and an old indian...and my beautiful wife hit her 2nd ever silver coin, with the old war nickel. Best part is, we all had a blast, and Hercules enjoyed the 70 degree weather.:angel11:

That is an incredible site! I'm lucky to get one silver on a site. What a great place to depend on all those years to give you a good hunt.

That silver dime is a beauty. Congrats on an amazing accomplishment SF! Man, I feel like I missed the golden age of detecting. Born in the early 90s and got my first detector in 2005. Just makes me appreciate finding the goods that much more I guess!

Congrats on a very nice seated and your 1,000th silver from there. Just curious as to what the site is or used to be for that many silvers?

awesome digs!!

Awesome!!! Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!! Been awhile since I’ve found a Seated Beauty!!! Nice!!!

1000 silvers from one location is impressive. grats and thanks for sharing.

Congrats!! HH&GL

Awesome hunt & story, the #1000 seated is well deserved after 40 years of pounding the same site, that's a great looking coin & I would be framing it, congratulations on your accomplishments & to the other two for some nice saves.

I haven’t counted my silvers but in the years I hunted seriously in the 1980s I only found about 100 or so total. Wish I was young again!

Great 1890 dime!!! I too would like to know what was there that so many silvers were present.

Congrats that's really cool bet you have some great stuff after all these years. Great post

The dog almost looked like a bear for a second lol

Thanks, friend. I'm lucky for 1 at the sites I hunt these days.

Thanks. Yep it was fun back in the 80's.

Thanks, buddy. They are few and far between anymore. I unearthed several nails going for this one...lol.

Thanks. It was a long time in the making.

Thanks, buddy. Yep, it's going into a special holder. I need to get out my site log, and see how many seated this makes coming out of here.

My knees are getting bad enough that I'm not sure how many more years I can do it.

Thanks, and yep, it's pretty decent shape.

Thanks, it's been a wonderful part of my life.

He's the best friend I've ever had. He'll be 14 in a couple months, and has had some major health issues. I have always enjoyed every second with him, and it kills me knowing he won't be here forever. I thought I was going to lose him just a couple of weeks ago, and it tore me up. He is a fighter, though, and was able to get through it.

Congratulations! I've got about 4 years into this hobby so 1000 silver coins is a few years out for me at any rate...

Congrats on the very nice Seated. You certainly have done well there over the years pulling all those Silvers. Thanks for sharing!

That's a stellar seated dime! Same year as the one I just found and I dare say I think yours is in better condition than mine! Congrats! 1000! I'm at 63 lifetime over 3.5 years. To get to 1000. Could take the rest of my life at this rate!

That’s just insane, congrats on a very cool milestone!

My best site has only produced 60 measly silver coins in the last 10 years. Lol
