Two years ago I found a dog tag at Camp Logan here in Houston that had a name- Clyde C. Dace - a Waggoner in the Ammunition Train.
I called every Dace in Texas and had no luck finding a relative -death records showed he died in 1970.
I posted it on a semilocal forum in Nov. 2006 and last week his daughter googled his name, found the post and responded!
She was his only child and married hence not listed as a Dace. She lives near Ft. Worth.
I mailed it to her and she sent me a letter describing his service in the south of France among other things.
He drove mules with wagons full of ammo to the front lines and never talked too much about his war experience.
I asked for pics of him and she said she'd try to find one so I could post it. I also asked if she could send me her pic with the tag.
Merry Christmas!
Here is a picture of the man behind the tag.
