White's PI Pro Dual Field, Garrett Ace 350,
Since I arrived before the workers I hunted the shoreline/wet sand. Got a handful of coins. Around 9 O'clock they choppers flew over to look for sharks. Life guards told me they spotted around 15 Tiger Sharks and 1 Great White just off shore. Glad I didn't go diving... SUCKS.. Oh well guess I'll go to the ice ponds and wrestle a turtle I can take em' :laughing7: :laughing7:

Man that stinks hope they don't stick around long

It is scary enough hunting here on the west coast of florida but I would definitely be thinking about only land hunting when they post signs warning you to stay out of the water because of sharks! WOW!

Ah yup....

I'm thinking of buying a chain mail wading suit. Any suggestions are welcome.
The only problem is that with all the other crappe I carry, I'd sink out of sight.

SEE! I'm always forgetting something. Thats old age for you.

I like that idea, just have to swing further out in front of ya. I wouldn't need my weights when diving either...or look over my shoulder. ;D

Talk about a beachgoers nightmare..at least they put out the signs.

Bunch of wussies, I water hunt no matter what. :icon_scratch:

Course my beaches are on lake Erie and Ontario ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D

There is a device that you attach to yourself and turn on just as you hit the water, it sends out an electromagnetic field that is unpleasant to sharks and thus keeps them away. I've seen it work(on TV heh heh). The problem is that it would probably interfere with your metal detector. Actually there is one more thing to keep in mind, the sharks have to get pretty close to you before they detect the field :P

Here is the sea snake suit. Proven to ward off sharks and get your a&% kicked! ;D

Scary notion on the shark sitings. Glad we get very few big ones here. I think it is awesome that they do fly overs to look for them, and try to keep the beach safe for swimmers.

As for that suit pictured there, I think you would be asked more questions by tourists about the suit than the detector.

"Are you sane?" "How did you get out??" "Impersonating a skeleton eh?"

And think sof that sort :)

I hear if you disguise yourself as a seal or a sea turtle the sharks won't bother you :P
