The National Stock Number (NSN) for the signal mirror is 6350-01-455-6671, sometime in the mid 90s or early 00s we started the conversion from glass signal mirrors to acrylic mirrors. The same mirrors we used in military were also available to the civilian population. I don't know how they were marked for civilian sales.

Typically the contract number contains the date, so AF 01(601)24758, would lead me to believe it is from a 2001 contract run. But I can't confirm this, if I had access to my records I could tell you more.

I spent 23 years in the USAF Aircrew Life Support career field, and maintained survival equipment along with flight equipment, and taught survival training. These mirrors were packed in our Survival Vests, Survival Kits, and Multi-Place Life Raft Accessory Containers.
