Hi; My son-in-law came across this old shotgun shell that someone had converted to what I believe is some sort of animal call device. He was curious as to how old it might be. Figured there might be some ammo experts in here that could narrow down the age if I posted some pics. Any help?

Collectors should help....
I know that it is quite old....

Peters Headstamps
they have it as 1887-1934

Because of the "made in USA" and the large P around the primer, it's 1915-1927.
