Anyone here serve in the Air Force in the 80s? I went through Lackland, TX and Camp Bullis, TX (ABGD) in 1985. Served in the ICBM fields in Great Falls, MT after that.

Went through Lackland in 1975 then Wichita Falls for tech school to learn to fix C130s. Interestingly enough we were friendly with the Shah of Iran in those days and there was a barracks full of Iranian Air Force on the base next to us also learning to fix C130s. Now they want to nuke us. Funny how fast things change... Maybe if we throw lots of money at them like we do with other hostile countries they will like us again....

USAF Security Police Retired. Basic training in 1972 and retired in 1994.

I did Lackland in April '68, then Keesler for radar school for 10 months, then Norton at San Bernardino, CA for the rest, except for a TDY to Williams AFB at Chandler, AZ for a couple of months. Got out April 10, 1972. 2193rd, later renamed 1965th Comm Squadron
