Found this clasp believe it is airforce but cant figure out what it is how it was used.How old? U.S. airforce? It is marked pat pend no d 195005 sterling silver and what looks like ock tag. measures about 1 1/2 inch long.

Looks like a closure from a metal watch band or maybe a bracelet.
