I just found this aluminum propeller on a local yard sale page. It is 59 inches long & weighs 27 pounds. The writing around the center of the prop read MET-L-PROP SER.No. 77135 DES.No.1C172 EM7653 KLIPTIP T.C. 910 P.C. 3 Can anybody ID the type of plane this came on? On the way back from picking the prop up, we stopped at a local thrift store where I picked up this old iron wood plane. If you have a propeller, you have to have a plane, right? The only mark on the plane is MADE IN USA. It is 10 inches long and appears to be set up for two blades. Any help on ID will be greatly appreciated!

I should learn to do more research before posting. I learned the prop is a McCauley Met-l-Prop used on a Cessna 172A-H. Priced on Ebay at $799.99. Mine is probably just a wall hanger due to dents on the edges.

I have several planes like those but I forget what they are called. They have value. Mine are missing the blades. Can you read Stanley anywhere on the plane or the blade?

Cessna ... yep ... you're gonna need an adapter.

A propeller and a plane, does anyone else see the irony? :laughing7:

Thanks to all for help on the plane. I found one on Ebay that says it made by Craftsman. Mine has no markings on it except the Made in USA. The prop cost me $30 & the plane was $1. I'm still trying to find that adapter to mount the propeller on my plane.

Yeah, I got it. But that plane will never fly, Orville...

I have this 1951 Spartan Imperial Mansion made the Spartan Aircraft Company. With this proIMG_0286.webppeller, a couple of wings & an engine, I might have something?
