Not cleaned yet in these pics , just sprayed off with water .
Weighs 312.48 grains as is . Most of it is 3 to 2 1/2 millimeters
thick as is ( just using mm ruler and micrometer ) .
Of course I will do the measurement again after the soak
and clean . I usually don't even take measurements or pics
of a piece until after cleaning , but I just got a hair on this one
and wanted to show it . Cigar box nugget to me .
On this piece I'm pretty sure any loss after cleaning will be infinitesimal
anyhow .................................. I bet it will look better though .

Super nice find! Congrats! .65 of an ounce Gold Nugget and with it's color, it is probably close to 22k.

Don't see how in that gold color differs by geographic area.

DesertNuggets answered the question in more length than I would have. While geographical area can be a factor, my statement was based on what I know of the colors of raw Gold Nuggets and their' pureness in Karats! Much of the Gold that I find in North Carolina and even here in Tennessee is 22k or very close to it and has pretty much the same color as the O.P.'s Gold Nugget.

Takoda you made me smile and something inside jumped when I saw that picture! Man that is nice gold!! I want to go out right now and swing that detector. Thank you for sharing that lovely uncleaned piece of gold. Was that taken by sniping?......................63bkpkr

Just under 21-grams of sweet, sweet gold!!!!! Congrats!!!!! :occasion14:

I am in Alabama and I am also very jealous! Congrats--awesome piece of gold!

looks likes a bull head to me, close to the vein?

Some Alaskan gold has that reddish staining. Do you know what it is?

Made me smile to 63 . Not sniping ...... but pretty selective digging right now .
Fresh dip break and slide . The break face still has some iffy look'n protruding
resistance to be mindful of so I'm a bit more careful , which also means slower .
Some of this stuff has been surprising considering what I was thinking before
it all tore loose . I've had a wild hair pay off before but I'm slop pig happy with
the way this is showing so far . Hope your doing well 63 .

It's the horse man . Bunch of that type stuff down here and it can be a
real pain . By the time I'm done with it , it will be shiny and purdy .
Good enough for a fine piece of jewelry even ............ Hopefully anyhow .

That depends Tramp ............. how close you reckon is close ? :laughing7:

I can see the bull head :icon_thumright: ............. it's good to name a piece if it
fits . Still not clean yet though .
