Alfredo Sciarrotta Sterling Piece

What a unique find today. I've never heard of this artist Alfredo Sciarrotta before and to top it off it was only 50 cents at this small TS I frequent from time to time. It's a pretty hefty piece for its size.

Nice piece Tamrock and the maker has a very interesting history. That pattern is generally referred to as "Tobacco Leaf" and your bowl is probably circa 1955

Indeed Alfredo was an interesting fellow. There are some completed sales on eBay of his silver and even one that looks much like this one that sold for $95. It's always fun to find things such as this that have a bit of a story to tell.

That $55 you linked to is only a "current bid" price on an auction with 3 days to run. It's worth considerably more than that, and will likely close at a more appropriate price.

Closed at $122.50, which I would say is a bargain.
