This is all that is left of a old mining camp called OLD SALMON FALLS. It was founded in 1850 and after the gold rush the only thing that was left was a small store. Then in 1950 when the Folsom dam was built it flooded the town and now spends most of the time under water. The bridge was a toll bridge where people where charged to cross the river from auburn CA. The bridge was the second one built here, the first one was washed out in a flood in the late 1800's. The bridge is called hidden bridge because it also spends most of its life under water. The lake is very low this year, that is why I was able to take the pictures of it (and do some detecting). I wasn't able to find N E thing of value except for a old rusty JEW harp and a couple of horse shoes.
