Almost the 1600's club.

Today I broke my oldest coin record which was a 1739 one Reale twice in ten minutes. The first coin I
dug was a 1737 King George and the next was a 1700 Farthing. Most of the times when you find these
old coppers their beyond recognition but with these two it's feels like I hit a homerun. As requested By
Diamondawg in my post yesterday I added some of lead I've found in this location to the pictures.

Thanks for looking. TM

Man... that's just awesome.

Gotta wonder what pocket THOSE dropped out of. Don't see stuff that old in the interior very often.

Great finds.

That Georgivs II has a really great look to it in my opinion.

Yeah that's pretty close to the 1600s! It's a halfpenny though, not a Farthing.

IP Halfpenny or Farthing I'm still happy I found a 314 year old coin with some detail on it.

Yep, that's for sure. I still remember the first coin I found that made me think ....that's damn old! Was a 1719 King George I Farthing. But I beat that getting into the 1500s. :)

Wow 1500's that is old.

That is an above averaged detailed 1700 William III Halfpenny, I have over 20 of the William coppers and not one has that much detail remaining. They were in circulation for a very long period and usually are worn slick or almost slick on the Reverse and most details on the Obverse are gone on the right side of the coin, so a good find for that type of coin..

These finds are super !

Can you imagine the events in time that have happened as these coins rest in the dirt. I would pay good money to see the events through the eyes of that 1700's KGII... if it had eyes that be :-).

My detecting daydreams while swinging are better than most movies I see!

1700 very nice :notworthy: Awesome array of finds ! The musket rounds add a nice touch !

Looks like someone chewed on that .69 cal one for a while. Great copper finds. Don in SJ makes a good point. The William III's don't come as good as that one too often.

That's one nice looking early copper . Congrats

Thank You

Thanks everyone for your replies and here a couple better pictures.

TM.

Although I may be an expert in US colonial coins, I'm not when it comes to all the foreign copper that circulated in this country during the 1700's. With that in mind, it doesn't appear you have a 1700 KG farthing. It appears to be some other halfpence size coin dated 1760. If it were British dated 1700 it would have been William III. As it appears to be dated 1760 and it's certainly not George, what is the coin? Anyone here with any ideas? I'm don't have the time right now to look it up, but I'm quite certain it is not British, not George and not dated 1700.

Don, read my earlier reply......
