Along The Bluffs

After sitting around the house with truck problems, rain, & a light snow for several days, it turned into a beautiful 'Sunny Day'. :icon_sunny:

With the help of my two Sons, we got the truck going, & I escaped to the woods for some 'meditation time'.
Local legend has it that Spanish armor was found under these bluffs, & pioneers plowed up saddles, bullets, etc.... from fields just East of here, I found several Indian points in the area.
The ground was lowered with a dozer, & bone & chips were found, leading to several nice celts & Artifacts being found over the years, (The ones shown) I found several years ago.
I walked along ancient trails, & had a very enjoyable walk.

Thanks Scotto, the bluffs are on Gov land, but the points came from private.
I took the State Archelogist & Gloria Farley there several years ago, I found a nice birdpoint & gave it to her to make a necklace, we took 'core samples' at the site.
The landowner found two black celts that were polished, (looked like they were dipped in oil), but since then he won't let anyone hunt there.

Beautiful pics & a great day to be out enjoying Mother Nature. Those are 2 nice points, too bad the land owner won't anyone hunt there anymore.

Too cool. Heard stories about the Spanish exploring up the Kiamichi and locating silver mines, and we all know the French were in that area, and some reports they noted silver deposits. And there are some killer arrowhead huntin sites in Little Dixie, too.

Thanks, according to his journals, DeSoto & his party crossed the Ar river & turned South (based on known indian settlements) that they described in their travels.
A little town called Ione Ar, just East of hwy 71, (runs from Minn to Louisiana), is where they believe he spent one winter, old Spanish coins were found there.
I met a man from Crows Ar at the Runestone once who claimed to have found a helmet, he laid it on a stump, went home & returned a few days later & it was gone.
There is a place on his trip to Hot Springs, called Caddo Gap, where they had a 'terrific battle' with the indians, there is a statue there, they enjoyed bathing in the 'Hot Springs', so much that they spent several days there.

Thanks Fred, even the buzzards were sailing around just enjoying the sun, & a red tail hawk joined them for a while, it was a Beautiful day out. :icon_sunny:

The land owner found two polished 'celts' that were jet black & highly polished on the land, it must have been a 'burial ground', there were many things that looked like grave goods found.
