So I know alot of machines are waterproof and this is probably not one but can I use this for shallow water? If not is there anyway to waterproof it?

Most machines aren't fully waterproof now most are up to the power boxes don't get those wet. The one ur talkin about ya ull b fine using it in shallow water, like I said a couple drops on the control box won't hurt it but if it falls from ur hand bye bye. One of my earlier detectors was the same way I used it in fresh water about knee high, but I was very nervous about getting the controls wet so I used a freezer bag & did my best to put the box in cover, it worked fine good luck in the water
