Got the dual field back from repair yesterday. was working a beach out in chest deep water decided only to dig the faint sounds due to so much aluminium just under the surface.got my 83rd Gold ring for the year and a hobo nickel dated 1929 have seen pictures of these nickles and always hoped I would find one. What I have noticed is that you never see any posted on here, unlike GW buttons, Gold coins ect. So am I right that they are hard to find? Looking foward to everyone's input. Thanks

Awesome hobo nickel! I have not seen one posted in quite a while. Very collectible esp if you can attribute the artist.

Great gold ring! Hobo nickel... WOW never saw one before, I'm gonna google that and read about it. Awesome thanks for sharing! HH

A hobo is certainly on my bucket list. That is a rare find indeed. And it came out so sharp.

Nice ring, and that nickel rocks.

The hobo nickel is definitely a cool find

Plymouthian12 If you metal detected that "Hobo" Nickel , You have a very exciting and I will say Banner find Amigo !
I don't remember ever seeing a dug "Hobo" Nickel in the years I've been here (2008 -) This is a rare find , it also fills
an historical niche as well . I am aware of the modern "Hobo" nickels - but since each is a unique hand carved item ,
I would vote Banner if it were made last week . Could you give us some story on how where you found this . Yeah ,
I'm very excited I've waited years for somebody to actually dig one of these !!!!!!!!!!

Argentium.
Yes the hobo nickle is a detecting find from the water

Argentium
The nickle was deep I'd guess pushing 16 inches or so on a local saltwater beach some of the coins we find there look awesome and some not so much I'm pretty excited about this it ranks pretty high on my list of finds

Very cool on the hobo.

Well that clinches it for me , Banner vote goes in now ! Woo Hoo !!!

( For any of you who have no idea why I'm going off on this nickel , do a search of Hobo Nickels,
online - this as a dug find is incredible ! )
