Hey guys. Had a little luck recently. Me and Mirage went to one of our familiar old parks for a few hours on Friday. We located an old sledding hill in the woods now that an older guy had told me he had seen guys walk away from years ago with handfuls of silver coins. It was trashy in spots and clear in others. I found a hole with two mercs in it which was sweet, a 1923 and a 1919. It was right next to a pretty large iron object but obviously it wasn’t interfering TOO much with it cause I was still getting a decent signal from the silver. We wandered around and picked up a few wheats and I got 2 buffalos which surprised me, a 1937 and a 1930. Also a nice 1959 dime at the base of the hill.

Found a few more wheats but I don't know what happened to them after I cleaned them. Oh well. Also, our camera isn't focusing so the pics are kinda bad...lol so oh well to that too.

Then I was bored today and it was great weather not only for detecting but for keeping people out of the parks (wet from recent rain and appearing to look like it’s going to rain any second). I went back to the same park, but this time I wandered around an old sidewalk and picked up a 1904 IH. Another surprise. Not only that, but a silver ring popped up. Pretty sweet for about an hour of detecting.

Really sweet finds! You guys always seem to be able to pull some keepers from your old parks.

Nate,
Your killin' me. Pretty good on Friday - 5 keepers(3 silver and two Buffs) in 3 hrs. I told Dan we should hit that hill more! Yeah, it's too bad on the camera. I'm going to hold out on posting my finds until I get another camera.

Great finds, I still have yet to find a buffalo, most of the sites I have been hunting are too new or too old :(
I figure I will find one, eventually ::)
HH,

Good hunt, congrats!

Thanks guys. Also, I forgot a pic of something interesting, it's a wheat that's smaller in diameter than a normal penny and also a lot thinner. The side pictured is almost smooth, you can just make out the outline of Lincoln's head.

Cool finds

Check that 37 Buffalo ---because it could be the 3 legged error

Fantastic finds, Nate! What's the token looking thing?

Nana :)

Nice Scores...At least you got out...Congrats on your finds. HH

Nice finds Nate,

It is so hard to hunt out a site. A have a old park to I like to hunt. Been there about 200 times. Went the other day and still pulled out 3 indians plus some wheats. Took a few hrs or so to find them. But the coins are still there.

I'm sure there is still more at your park also. The good thing about the parks is you can fall back on them when new sites aren't available. And when time is limited also I go to them.

Thanks but no 3-legger...I'm pretty sure that variety is only for the 37-D.

The "token" appears as though it might be something like a button. It says "President's Campaign 1971." A bit smaler than a dime. I thought for sure it was silver in the hole at the moment but it doesnt seem like it now that I have it cleaned up. Still an interesting find huh.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Way to go Big Nate. Some very nice finds there. Is that college money or gas $ for the van? ;D
Does Bob still MD, or has he retired? :o ;D
(Just kidding Bob. I have two teen kids too as you know).

Nice job on that IH and silver ring.

Nice assortment of finds! I love IHs, buffalos are great, as are Mercs. I'm jealous. I've never had a day like that, but that doesn't stop me from trying!

Thanks..lol, and I've never found a silver dollar, but that doesnt stop me from digging those signals that end up being iron chunks or deep cans.

Lol, Doug I'll take any $ that I can get. You'll still score down there...

Thanks yall

Nice finds Nate! That silver Mercs are always a great find.
