Hi newbie here,
I've got a few jugs that I inherited and I'm wondering about this one.
It has H. C. Smith For Good Whisky 108 Lafayette St Jackson, Ten scripted on it. Any info would
be appreciated, age, collectability? For what it's worth, I filled it with water and it took nearly 10 cups.
Is it kind of a bakers dozen thing? Or a jug making issue?
Thanks

Great jug, very collectible

Any idea how old this jug is?

I did a quick search on the info on the jug, got a few hits on the net. they valued jugs over $200, but those jugs had same info, but stamped onto the jug. I would think yours would be earlier. You could contact the historic society in Jackson, TN. Maybe they could help with the time period. Good luck, it's a great jug Ima

Henry Clay Smith is listed in the wholesale liquor business in the 1900 census, then as the proprietor of The Spot saloon in 1904, he died in 1905. That is the address of his saloon in 1904...

Thanks Jim. Even with the info you provided, my google searches came up virtually empty. Do you think that it's safe to say this jug was made prior to 1900?

1880's-1900 seems a good time frame...

Thanks again, Jim.
