While on the hunt for the new detecting spots, decided to revisit some of my last years hunting grounds. The weather is just perfect, not too cold or too hot. The nature is waking up, so I have to act fast before the farmers get out their equipment. Wasn't disappointed with the results as I managed to save the second example that I know of from the Patriotic buttons section in Albert's book. It's my second ''I Axe My Way'' button with the first being found last fall. http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/555480-colonial-patriotic-button-some-18th-century-copper-coins-relics.htmlThis type still puzzles me as I can't find any other example of it other than in my collection and the book.

I might have made a mistake last year thinking it was pewter as my previous example was a bit brittle on the sides. This one is much more solid, with the original shank still attached.
And here they are side by side.

Super happy with this find. They look great together.

Other than that beauty, the week end hasn't brought anything really exceptional. Some good finds were a few British military buttons.

And the ''I don't have any idea'' item. The top looks silver, it's heavy and hand engraved. Not sure what it was used for.
