This tiny (about 1/2 inch) metal button was in a box of old military buttons. Some of the finish has worn off. On the left side are three horseshoes curving down the button, the other side is an anchor. The horseshoes and anchor are in relief. It is a two piece button with a twisted shank. I can’t find anything remotely like this. It doesn’t appear to be military, maybe someone’s blazer button? I thought it weird that the horseshoes were in the downward (bad luck) position. If anyone could give me any insight, I would appreciate it.

I agree that the button is most definitely not military. It does not have any back marks.
My guess is late 20th century blazer button.

I agree with nkellam's assessment above, blazer cuff button.
Date wise though, I'm thinking early 20thc (1900 - 20).

An anchor is an ancient symbol of hope. Horseshoes are for luck. Googling hope and luck will get you some examples of horseshoes and anchors, but not too many.

As for the crescent moon, if it is supposed to be one, I don't know.

Oh, and I vote blazer button as well. I'm with Antiquarian on the approximate time frame.
