I don't know anything about buttons, but that is beautiful!
 

I'm not sure on that Crown type other than I know its not British. Reminds me of the Spanish, or Dutch, but I'm not sure which European type it is. I'll be interested to find out. I'm assuming its not a Blazer button based on it's finer manufacture but I can't discount it either. Whats the backmark?

It's very similar to the Dutch Navy Buttons but I haven't seen a Crown match yet.
Being a blank reverse does increase the odds of it being a blazer button copy, but at least it wasn't a steel-back so there is hope. I'll leave it to others to pin it down
 

Thanks , buttons are almost as interesting as coins , in my opinion. Also found one with a different looking star but dinged it on the way out.

Yes, its funny how many of us wouldn't have given them a second thought until we had been detecting.
