I found this item lying two inches from the top of a mound alongside a hill
in a remote village near Swabi. The area is renowned for artifacts from
Gandhara and Bactrian era. I found this with my Bounty Hunter Tracker lV
detector. One of my detecting friend told me it is a Bronze mirror.
I have also found some coins dating back to the Kushan period in the
same mound. The object has a blackish patina which shows it is very old
and its size is 7.5 inches length and 5.5 inches wide. It is quite heavy at
nearly 700+grams. Judging from the greenish coloured rust it looks like it
is bronze.
Anyway will appreciate if there is someone out there who are experts in
Gandhara or Bactrian antiques who can give me some comments.
By the way Swabi is in the province of Puktoonkhwa of Pakistan.
