Ancient coin?

This coin was given to me. I know its probably at least 400-1000 years old. Its a little smaller than a dime and about the thickness of a half dollar. It seems to be made of bronze. I was told it was Persian or from India maybe. I dont know anything about old world coins or where and how to research it. Any help would be appreciated.
