Ancient game piece

I got this today for only $1 and took a chance in it. The guy I got it from has been collected for years. He had a lot of good old things. When I saw this it looked like some sort of game piece or something. It has a lot of marks in it like it been made or tooled. Was wondering if anyone knew what it was. Thanks.

Im thinking its pretty old because its not perfectly round and look like its been hand tooled to be that shape
