I saw a sign saying multi family yard sale, so I stopped by. Found a little crystal paper weight made by Baccarat for 50 cents, A compass made by Keuffel & Esser New York for 10 bucks. A little oil lamp that has a pewter base and was never lite until i filled it and lite it for a buck. I also picked up this silver pierced basket with unknown to me marks?. I believe it's plated, but it's a more hand crafted piece than most plated item. It was a dollar and I pretty much bought it to see if I could run down the marks. So far I've not been able to. Maybe the fine chap from Surrey can shed some light on it from the information he have in his vast library 🤔

Nice find on the crystal... The pierced piece is plated and International Silver.
Huh! International Silver Co. was my first thought, but I was thinking it be a mark of I S in the rectangle borders. So having another look I find it's a piece International must've imported from India. Thanks!

International Silver Company it is, but I wouldn’t assume it’s from India. Although they did import from India and China, and you can find that set of marks on pieces from both places, they’re standard marks used by the company for silver plate in general. Imported pieces would have the country of origin on them, as for the example you found on the net, but usually as an adhesive label. If that gets peeled off, there’s then no way of knowing where the piece was made.
