Ancient paleoindian artifact-burnishing/polishing stone - Suggestions about function?

Hi,
Do you have some suggestions about the possible application of this stone by some ancient people from Brazil that were hunters, gatherers, and ceramists? My hypothesis is that it could be a pottery burnishing stone.
