I found this one a couple of weeks ago. Brass...2 3/4 inches long....2 inches high. Has some writing on the side. I can see a W and an R and a few numbers there. Do I dare post more? hahaha!!
Thanks a bunch!!
Nana

My brain is fried tonight, and I can't remember the name of it, but I think it is more modern horse tack ... hardware .. r rope fittings of some sort.

After looking at it a little closer, I don't think it is what I stated. Here is what I was thinking, but they are totally different. Not sure what yours is.

what you have is a railroad signal box lock, most likely be Adlake, but could be a couple other makers. it should have a bolt head inside either 9/16" or triangular shaped. They were mainly used on light housings rather than switches, but are also commonly found on many railroad sheds.

Still in use today, if you clean it out you'll see the bolt head I'm talking about.
