Ridley and I got a late start today. We tried to locate an old plantation / stagecoach stop that is back in the woods. We soon discovered that will be a winter project. ;D
We then hit a coworkers 1901 house. It had been previously detected by a neighbor we discovered. Ridley did find a copper ring, and I ended up with a wheat and a brake pad. ;D
Big whoop. We then headed to the old faithful farm spot for a few hours.
My finds were:
* 1926 Merc dime. My 1st Merc ever!!! Ya-hooo. It is worn, but still a blast to FINALLY find one.
* An old bracelet with blue stones. Stamped "China", so I doubt it is too expensive. :(
* Six Wheats : 1918 , 1936 (x2) , 1942 , 1946 , 1953.
* A piece of metal (lead?) pinched around a square nail. Weird piece.
* Asst'd relics.
Nothing too exciting, but the Merc made my day.
Thanks for looking,
MM

Nice finds. Congrats on your first merc. May it be the first of many.
Bob

Very nice finds...I sure hate those lead nail head caps if that's what they are. They are the same color as the dirt when found and my Ace 250 will find them very deep.

What are those darn things? What were they used for? They sure were pesky to dig up. ;D

I'm going to shoot for a silver dollar next before the year is over. That's my next quest.
Although the Merc isn't worth much, I've just always loved the looks of that coin. Hopefully I can dig one up in better shape next time.
By the way, I located a large 2' x 4' stone slab at about 12" down at the 1901 house today using your probe. The owners didn't even know it was there. It was right in front of where they planted a bush on the old privy site. I told them that maybe it was a headstone. ;D
It was too hot today to attempt to dig it up, so I'll let them do it. ;)

Too Hot!!!???? What are you going to do when it gets 98 degrees with 85% humidity around here?

Congratulations on finally finding that Merc. I hope the silver dollar isn't too long of a wait.

Nice finds there. Not to highjack your thread, but a question on the stagecoach stop. Out by me there is a old stone "platform" along a back road across from a big old house. Looks like it is about 8 feet high? Once heard that's what it was. It's covered with bush, but from just driving by it looks like you could walk thru it too. Does that fit the description of what one would be? Thanks, and again congrats on the finds.

Those are some pretty cool finds.
Nice job on the recovery.

Nice finds , it looks like your doing well at the farm miner, keep it up

Congrats on the silver dime

Eddy

congrats on the merc! ive found finding silver dollars to be about as common as finding gold coins. :( have you ever found a walker? thats a true beauty and a worthy goal.
