Ridley and I got a late start today. We tried to locate an old plantation / stagecoach stop that is back in the woods. We soon discovered that will be a winter project. ;D
We then hit a coworkers 1901 house. It had been previously detected by a neighbor we discovered. Ridley did find a copper ring, and I ended up with a wheat and a brake pad. ;D
Big whoop. We then headed to the old faithful farm spot for a few hours.
My finds were:
* 1926 Merc dime. My 1st Merc ever!!! Ya-hooo. It is worn, but still a blast to FINALLY find one.
* An old bracelet with blue stones. Stamped "China", so I doubt it is too expensive. :(
* Six Wheats : 1918 , 1936 (x2) , 1942 , 1946 , 1953.
* A piece of metal (lead?) pinched around a square nail. Weird piece.
* Asst'd relics.
Nothing too exciting, but the Merc made my day.
Thanks for looking,
MM

congrats on the merc! ive found finding silver dollars to be about as common as finding gold coins. :( have you ever found a walker? thats a true beauty and a worthy goal.
The only walker I've found is a Johnny Walker cap. ;D I think I may stand a better chance at finding the larger coins at the 1804 plantation house Ridley and I hit a few weeks ago. It was freezing that day, and the ground was full of aluminum scraps from the siding put on the house. I'm hoping to pay my dues by digging up the scrap, then finding the old coins around the house. At least that is my dream right now. ;)
Have a great week,
MM

Nice finds there. Not to highjack your thread, but a question on the stagecoach stop. Out by me there is a old stone "platform" along a back road across from a big old house. Looks like it is about 8 feet high? Once heard that's what it was. It's covered with bush, but from just driving by it looks like you could walk thru it too. Does that fit the description of what one would be? Thanks, and again congrats on the finds.

Actually, I have no idea on your question. I never made it back through the woods yet to my new site. Your best bet would be to start a "Stagecoach stop?" question in the "discussion" section of the forum. Good luck. I'm curious to see what structure you have found too. Can you get pictures?

MM,
I pulled two ticks off last night. One was crawling around on my back and the other one was... well, near the hip area.

I'm done with the woods 'till winter! ;)

Come on Dude! Post the tick pictures! I had one climbing on my leg last week. I'm sticking to the grass areas until winter. Ticks suck!!! (is that a pun?)
