Another 2 ring day and another SS

We were shooting the last segment of the 1st film today. Pete & I arrived at the beach about an hour ahead of the camera man. Of course my 1st target was a huge mens size 13 SS Ring.

After the camera man arrived I found another ring neck deep water that also turned out to be a POS ring not even marked. But we had fun filming....

More finds.WTG Bill.You said you have made some of the finds
in neck deep water.What's your opinion on how they got there.
Does anybody swim that far out where you hunt,or are they
just deposited there by wave and tidal movement.I notice that
not too many people go that far out down here,though some
do occasionally.Keep it up and good luck.HH Joe

They lose them when they are swimming that far out.

My take on it is when they lose a ring it goes right down into the sand fast, sinks and doesn't move unless there is a major storm. I don't feel normal wave action and current can move them.

But the reason I was out that far is because most hunters don't go that far out and the fact that I am 6' helps to get deeper yet. The beach we were hunting is hunted very heavy and you need some type of edge to finding the stuff. I agree with you, in fact today there was I would say 1,000 people in the water and I said to Pete look where everyone is, from the wet sand to waist deep for the most part.....

You have my admiration for hunting in water that deep.
I think I am quite daring when I am being gently sloshed round in
waist deep surf

Thanks Bill.I meant to ask how tall you were.That can change
where neck deep is.I have been thinking of going out deeper
just to see what's there,using scuba gear,just in case the
bottom might open to shell or rock farther out,and some of
the old stuff might be there.Some people swim there,but not a
lot,except the tri-athletes,and the like.I would love to find some
hard bottom or shell,or at least get closer to it,as I agree the finds
can sink very fast and end up on hard bottom.Good luck and HH Joe
