My daughter just got her 2009 whitetail buck back from the taxidermist today. She was thrilled with the job he did and now this is her second "buck on the wall". Here's a couple of pictures of the new trophy and also a collage of both of her bucks.
Thanks for looking!

She has a start on 'quite a collection'.

Fossis............

I would say they were harvested in self defense.

What 2 magnificent racks!

Yes, and she's only 14! I hope we don't run out of wall space ;D. Thanks for the comments, Fossis!!

Thanks bbqbull! She's kinda proud of these bucks! It'll be fun to see if she can top these next hunting season.

Hey Sandcreek,

That first buck is a gnarly dude. Both bucks are hi-quality and would have most seasoned hunters drooling. Your daughter can be rightfully proud. :headbang: And you, of her.

Rifle or Bow? :coffee2:
Thanks Cachefinder--She shot both these bucks with a Remington .22-250. And she likes to shoot them in the neck(so they drop and she doesn't have to trail them ). The taxidermist wasn't sure he'd be able to do a shoulder mount on this buck because she did a neck shot---but he did a really good job and you can't tell where she shot the deer.

Yeah, he is a gnarly looking buck---the brow tines really cool with the stickers that come out the bottom of them. He's a really wide buck, too, with a 21 1/2" spread. My daughter was so tickled with this buck---it still amazes me when I see her shoot cause she's all calm and collected and then BANG! and the buck falls! We call her the "sniper" :D. I thank the Good Lord everyday that we have land to hunt and fish on.
Thanks so much for the comments, Bravowhiskey!!

Well the freezer must be FULL :icon_thumright:

Thanks for the answer- tracking/trailing is half the fun~

Hey Kuger--yes, she's already spoiled and getting pretty darn selective about what she will shoot :D. She made her dad hunt hard with her and walk a lot of miles to get that 2009 buck because she wanted to top the one from the year before.
Thanks for the comments~~~~

Your a lucky guy, raising her right

Gotta love it.....

Yeahh Mannn, those are some trophies to be proud of. She'll have a hard time topping them next year. She might have to
settle for nothing less than an elk next year in order to get a bigger rack. LOL. What caliber rifle did she use? She
is a daughter to be proud of. Congrats to her. It looks like you did a good job teaching her.

The best of everything to you both.

Thanks Ray---She shoots a .22-250 Remington rifle. Its a good rifle for a woman or youth...not too much of a kick to it. My husband started her out with a small single shot .22--she killed her first rabbit at 7 years of age. She has a real steady hand and never misses, so yes we are proud of her. I think you can't go wrong by teaching kids to have a healthy respect for guns and taking them to the woods. When she's not hunting she's shooting animals with her Canon(camera :D).
kindest regards,
sandcreek
